McIntyre Ready for Action As the Floodwaters in Calgary Recede

McIntyre Group's field operations in Alberta province are still on hold due to severe, widespread flooding that resulted from the sudden cresting of the Bow and Elbow rivers last week. Some of the businesses occupying buildings in Calgary's downtown core were getting their first opportunity today to inspect workplaces for damage and formulate recovery plans. Others will not gain entry to their buildings until later in the week. Photo gallery above:Nine volunteers from the McIntyre Calgary staff worked with civilian and uniformed members of the Calgary City Police in what became an exhausting 9-hour effort to save archival material from destruction at a flood-stricken downtown location. Flooding in Calgary Forces Shutdown of McIntyre Operations

McIntyre Group is using every means available to let clients, suppliers and partners know that they were forced to shut down McIntyre's Calgary operations due to the catastrophic flooding of the Bow and Elbow rivers there. The power is out and most McIntyre staff members are attempting to return to their homes. At this point, it is not known when McIntyre Group will be able to resume operations in Alberta. Two McIntyre Group trucks carrying four McIntyre staff members are being escorted by Calgary City Police officers to a downtown location where it is hoped the McIntyre team will be able to assemble governmental archive materials and relocate them to higher ground. CBC News reported that Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi has urged residents directly affected by the flooding to "gather your valuables and go." The Retail Services management team from FSN's Canadian member, McIntyre Group, will be at GlobalShop 2013 (Booth 4157) — all three days: 16–18 April.
