Lean, Clean Glass Wall Installation in Phoenix

The fit out of AIG's regional center in Phoenix, Arizona, was Manning Group's first opportunity to showcase its considerable expertise in architectural wall installation for a long-time client dealer in New York. Despite sudden changes in scheduling and manpower requirements, Manning Group moved the project along so smoothly toward an on-time completion that the dealer's installation overseer was able to leave the job site earlier than expected. Manning Group, the Facilities Services Network member that covers Arizona and New Mexico, had an unusual opportunity for an office furniture installation company in their part of the country: the first in-market installation of a furniture line. Fortunately for all parties involved, they accepted the challenge: a workspace-expansion project in the uptown Phoenix financial district. The customer is an independent investment advisor providing retirement investment management services to employers of nearly 150 of the Fortune 500 companies and a number of the largest retirement plan providers in the U.S. Two furniture brands, Tayco and DIRTT, are featured in the project design. DIRTT’s movable walls are pretty well established solutions in major markets around the U.S. Tayco—also a Canadian office furniture manufacturer, and based in Toronto—is in expansion mode for its Up line of systems and storage furniture, which debuted in 2006. The project outlined below marks the ...

Cubicle Solutions Beats the Clock on Record-Setting Architectural Wall Installation

It’s rare when a contract furniture installation company gets the opportunity to install nearly two and a quarter miles of architectural wall as a single project. Cubicle Solutions, Inc. (CSI) not only had the opportunity, it agreed to accomplish the work on a 6-month schedule between April and October 2013. New England’s largest non-union architectural wall installation project to date was to take place at one of two corporate headquarters campuses providing workspace for associates of the leading off-price value retailer of apparel and home fashions in the U.S. and abroad. It was a plum assignment for CSI, and one with a degree of difficulty that climbed significantly when the end user’s occupancy date had to be moved up, depriving the wall installation schedule of two precious weeks of productivity. How CSI—the non-union New England member of Facilities Services Network—managed to complete the project on time is a story of extraordinary project management expertise, a ...
